Measles: Why Should We Be Concerned

Measles is a highly contagious infection that causes rash and fever. Although measles has been around since before the eighteenth century, and has been eradicated in the US, it is still continually brought back the states by unvaccinated travelers who obtain measles while they are in other countries. Recently in 2019, there has been a noteworthy increase in the number of measles cases in the US.

The most effective way to protect yourself from getting measles is to get the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine.
